Authorities responded to a 911 call at her Manhattan residence, where she was pronounced dead at the scene. No foul play is suspected, and the medical examiner is investigating.

Trachtenberg’s representative issued a statement confirming her passing and requesting privacy for her family. She gained prominence playing Dawn Summers on Buffy, appearing in 66 episodes between 2000 and 2003. 20th Century Fox Television, which produced the show, praised her impact, calling her role “unforgettable.” Trachtenberg once expressed gratitude for the role, thanking Sarah Michelle Gellar for being “the chosen sister.”

Recently, Trachtenberg addressed fan concerns about her health, stating on social media that she was “happy and healthy.” SAG-AFTRA expressed condolences, and Melissa Joan Hart shared a tribute, reminiscing about their time together on Clarissa Explains It All.
