Jordon Hudson, the 24-year-old girlfriend of 73-year-old former NFL coach Bill Belichick, added fuel to the public’s fascination with their relationship by posting an email from Belichick on Instagram. The message, dated April 10, expresses his frustration with media coverage of his memoir The Art of Winning: Lessons from My Life in Football, particularly a news article that he felt unfairly emphasized one of his professional mistakes.

“I don’t think this is fantastic, but it probably will hype the book,” Belichick wrote. “This book is about how I did my job… not a bathroom book that highlights my mistakes.” He urged for more authentic promotion.

Hudson, who has over 91,000 Instagram followers and describes herself as a former college cheerleader and daughter of a Maine fisherman, captioned the screenshot: “Full statement to be released later today.” The post came two days after an awkward exchange aired on CBS Sunday Morning, in which reporter Tony Dokoupil asked the couple how they met. Hudson, seated off-camera, quickly shut the question down: “We’re not talking about this.”

The interview went viral, with viewers noting Hudson’s presence throughout. Dokoupil quoted Belichick’s memoir, where he refers to her as his “idea mill and creative muse.” He also brought up a photo from October showing the couple dressed as a fisherman and a mermaid. Belichick responded coolly, saying, “I’m on some of those social media platforms, but I honestly don’t follow them.”

According to NBC Sports, Hudson plays an active role in Belichick’s professional life and reportedly exerts significant influence.

Belichick, best known for winning six Super Bowls with the New England Patriots, stepped away from the NFL after the 2023 season and recently signed on to coach at the University of North Carolina. NBC News has reached out to UNC for comment.
