Amber Heard has weighed in on the allegations Blake Lively filed against her It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni, stating she “saw this firsthand.” Speaking to NBC News on Monday, Heard referred to social media as a place “where a lie becomes the truth.”

Lively’s complaint, filed with the California Civil Rights Department, accuses Baldoni of sexual harassment, fostering a hostile work environment, and launching a targeted social media campaign to tarnish her reputation. It also alleges that Baldoni hired PR crisis manager Melissa Nathan, known for representing Johnny Depp during his defamation trial against Heard.

In a statement, Heard called social media “the personification of the saying, ‘A lie travels halfway around the world before truth can get its boots on.’” She added, “It’s as horrifying as it is destructive.”

Lively’s complaint claims Baldoni’s crisis communications team developed a plan for “social media mitigation,” involving “proactive fan posting” and “social manipulations” to shift the narrative during the film’s promotion. The film drew attention for reports of tension between its stars, with Lively and Baldoni avoiding joint appearances and co-stars, including Jenny Slate, not following Baldoni on Instagram.

Bryan Freedman, representing Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios, called Lively’s allegations “categorically false,” asserting the crisis team was hired because Lively allegedly threatened to boycott the film’s production and promotion.

As of Monday, Baldoni’s representatives had not responded to Heard’s comments.
