Bob Dylan has voiced his admiration for Timothée Chalamet, who stars as the legendary musician in the upcoming biopic A Complete Unknown, set to release on Christmas Day. In a post on X, Dylan expressed confidence in Chalamet’s performance, calling him a “brilliant actor” who would be “completely believable” as a younger version of himself.

The film, based on Elijah Wald’s 2015 book Dylan Goes Electric!, focuses on Dylan’s transition from folk to rock and the events leading to his controversial 1965 performance at the Newport Folk Festival. This electrified set divided fans and critics, marking a turning point in his career. Dylan praised the book as a “fantastic retelling” of this pivotal period and encouraged fans to read it after seeing the movie.

Chalamet, who released covers of “Like a Rolling Stone” and “Girl From the North Country” ahead of the film’s premiere, expressed gratitude for Dylan’s support. “I am so grateful. Thank you, Bob,” he wrote on X.

Reflecting on the title, Dylan quipped, “What a title!” The enigmatic A Complete Unknown promises to give audiences a glimpse into one of music’s most transformative eras.
