Caitlin Clark will be out of action for at least two weeks after straining a quadriceps muscle, according to an announcement by the Indiana Fever on Monday. The team did not disclose when or how the injury occurred, but Clark had previously been dealing with a leg issue that caused her to miss a preseason game earlier this year.

The Fever’s official statement noted that Clark is dealing with a left quadriceps strain and that she “will be out a minimum of two weeks.” Further updates will follow after she’s re-evaluated, the team added.

Caitlin Clark suffered the injury in a game against the New York Liberty.

Barring an early return, Clark will miss at least four games: Wednesday’s matchup at the Washington Mystics, a Friday home game against the Connecticut Sun, a June 3 home game against Washington, and a June 7 road game at the Chicago Sky.

Despite having only a season and a few weeks under her belt in the WNBA, Clark has rapidly become the league’s most high-profile player. Her presence has dramatically boosted attendance, with opposing teams often playing in larger arenas to accommodate the demand. The Mystics, who normally host games at the 4,200-seat CareFirst Arena, will instead play both their home games against Indiana this season at CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore, which holds over 10,000 fans, as outlined in this tweet.

Clark, 23, played in all 44 of Indiana’s games last season and was named WNBA Rookie of the Year. This year, she’s appeared in all four games so far, averaging 19 points, six rebounds, and 9.3 assists per contest.

Her durability is notable—Clark didn’t miss a single one of the 139 games she played for the Iowa Hawkeyes. During her college career, she became the all-time leading scorer in women’s college basketball history.
