Cristiano Ronaldo has made it official with a dazzling gesture.

The soccer icon has gotten engaged to his longtime partner Georgina Rodríguez. On Monday, Rodríguez shared the happy news on Instagram, revealing a striking photo of a massive diamond ring adorning her left hand.

“Yes, I do,” she captioned the post in Spanish, later translated into English. “In this and in all lives.”

Ronaldo and Rodríguez first crossed paths in 2016 at a Gucci store in Madrid, where she was working. Their connection quickly grew into romance, and they went public with their relationship in 2017.

That same year, the couple welcomed their first child together, daughter Alana, in November. In April 2022, they had twins, daughter Bella and son Ángel, though Ángel tragically passed away at birth. Rodríguez has also embraced the role of stepmother to Ronaldo’s three other children — Cristiano Jr., born in June 2010, and twins Eva and Mateo, who were born via surrogate in June 2017.

Ronaldo’s Legendary Career

Now 40, Ronaldo is set to begin his fourth season with Saudi Pro League team Al-Nassr. His career has spanned some of the world’s top clubs, including Real Madrid, Manchester United and Juventus. Over the years, he has earned five Ballon d’Or awards, lifted five Champions League trophies, and celebrated a European Championship win with Portugal in 2016.

Ronaldo’s numbers speak for themselves — he is the all-time leading scorer in international soccer with 138 goals and holds the record for the most combined career goals at over 930 across club and country.
