Drake’s first Australian tour since 2017 will kick off on February 9, the same day Kendrick Lamar headlines the Super Bowl halftime show in New Orleans. The timing intensifies the high-profile feud between the two rappers, which has dominated the hip-hop scene through diss tracks and public jabs.

During a live stream with xQc, Drake announced the tour, titled “Anita Max Wynn,” a nod to his alter ego and a play on the phrase “I need a max win.” The tour, limited to Australian cities like Melbourne, Sydney, and the Gold Coast, coincides with the near-completion of Drake’s upcoming album with PARTYNEXTDOOR. Addressing accusations from Kendrick, Drake remarked, “You need facts to take me out. Fairytales won’t do it.”

Kendrick’s Super Bowl performance comes just days after releasing GNX, his first album since Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers in 2022. While Drake isn’t mentioned by name on the album, Kendrick takes aim at those who’ve supported his rival, including Snoop Dogg. The February 9 performance marks Kendrick’s first solo halftime show appearance, though some fans have criticized the decision, arguing the slot should have gone to New Orleans native Lil Wayne. Kendrick addresses this on the track Wacced Out Murals, rapping, “I think my hard work let Lil Wayne down / Won the Super Bowl and Nas the only one congratulate me.”

The feud, rooted in debates over hip-hop’s “big three”—Drake, Kendrick, and J. Cole—has grown increasingly personal, with diss tracks targeting family and appearances. Both artists are now set to command global attention on the same day, further fueling the rivalry.
