Eight people were injured Sunday night in Philadelphia when a vehicle driven by 26-year-old Rebekah DeShields struck a crowd celebrating the Eagles’ win over the Washington Commanders to advance to the Super Bowl. The injuries ranged from minor to fractures, police said, but further details on the victims were not provided.

DeShields, driving a Mercedes-Benz GLA 250, was charged Monday with aggravated assault, aggravated assault by a vehicle, and causing an accident involving injury, according to the district attorney’s office. Police initially described the incident at Broad and Spring Garden streets as unintentional, but have since alleged assault without disclosing a motive.

The collision occurred just outside a designated street closure area for post-game celebrations. DeShields was stopped at the scene, and no attorney has been confirmed to represent her. The Eagles defeated the Commanders 55-23 and are set to face the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl on February 9.
