Elon Musk didn’t hold back in slamming the latest Republican spending bill aligned with President Donald Trump’s agenda, calling it a “disgusting abomination” in a blunt post on X.

“I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore,” Musk wrote. “This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it.”

He continued by warning of its fiscal impact: “It will massively increase the already gigantic budget deficit to $2.5 trillion (!!!) and burden American citizens with crushingly unsustainable debt.” Musk’s comments echo concerns raised by budget analysts, who estimate the legislation could contribute more than $2.5 trillion to the federal deficit in the near future.

His post came just days after his departure from the White House, highlighting a sharp break between Musk and the administration he had, until recently, supported in various policy discussions.

When questioned about Musk’s comments during a press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt responded dismissively: “Look, the president already knows where Elon Musk stood on this bill. It doesn’t change the president’s opinion. This is one big beautiful bill, and he’s sticking to it.”
