Savannah Chrisley defended her “innocent” unborn child after public criticism followed news of her pregnancy and engagement. In an Instagram Stories post Tuesday, she shared a sonogram and told the child that public scrutiny would not define them.

“You are not a headline. You are not a controversy,” Chrisley wrote. She added that the child was “not defined by anyone’s past, anyone’s mistakes, or anyone’s opinions,” describing the baby as “innocent, deeply loved and the greatest blessing” to her and her fiancé.

Chrisley Calls Her Innocent Unborn Child a Blessing

“No amount of noise in this world will ever overshadow the joy of being your mama,” Chrisley wrote. She also called the baby her “answered prayer” and said, “I will never apologize for celebrating you.”

The message followed Chrisley’s announcement that she is expecting her first child and is engaged. She made the announcement in an Instagram video Tuesday, but did not identify her fiancé by name. She said he was “much older” than she was.

Page Six reported that Us Weekly later identified the fiancé as Jason Galanis, 56, who is 27 years older than Chrisley. Page Six described Galanis as a convicted fraudster and reported that he was an associate of Hunter Biden. It also said he testified in the Republican impeachment inquiry into former President Joe Biden in March 2024, while he was still in prison.

Galanis was sentenced to more than 14 years in prison in September 2020 for his role in two schemes, including one that defrauded a Native American tribe and investors out of tens of millions of dollars. President Trump commuted his prison sentence in March 2025, according to Page Six.

Page Six also reported that President Trump pardoned Galanis in March 2025. Todd Chrisley and his wife, Julie Chrisley, were pardoned in May 2025 after convictions for tax evasion and bank fraud. Todd Chrisley and Galanis served time at Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola, Florida, and Page Six said their prison terms overlapped from January to August 2023.

She Also Addressed Their Age Gap

Chrisley, 29, discussed the age difference on her podcast, “Unlocked,” on Tuesday. She said she would rather have “20 phenomenal, unbelievable years with someone than 50 just [fine] years.” She also said Galanis did not look or act his age, describing his body as “great” and his mind as “even sharper.” Page Six reported that Galanis is 27 years older than Chrisley.

The podcast remarks offered Chrisley’s own explanation for addressing the age gap after her engagement became public. Her Instagram announcement had described her fiancé only as “much older,” while the later report identified him by name and age. Chrisley’s sonogram post focused on her feelings about the pregnancy and the child, rather than naming him.

Her post did not name Galanis, though Us Weekly later identified him as her fiancé, Page Six reported. The message kept its focus on the baby and Chrisley’s response to the attention surrounding the pregnancy.
