Jamie Lee Curtis has announced a $1 million donation from her Family Foundation to support relief efforts for the devastating L.A. wildfires. In an emotional statement on Instagram, Curtis expressed gratitude for first responders and shared her commitment to collaborate with Governor Newsom, Mayor Bass, and Senator Schiff to ensure the funds make the greatest impact.

During her recent appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, Curtis became tearful as she described the destruction in areas like Pacific Palisades, Malibu, and Santa Monica. “This is where I live,” she said, recounting the loss of homes belonging to friends and neighbors.

The fires, which began Tuesday, have forced the evacuation of over 30,000 residents, consumed 15,800 acres, and claimed five lives. Celebrities such as Billy Crystal and Paris Hilton are among those who lost their homes.

The disaster has also led to numerous event cancellations, including major film premieres and awards show nominations. Actress Jean Smart has called on networks to redirect funds from Hollywood events to assist wildfire victims and firefighters.

Curtis’ pledge highlights the ongoing need for relief as Los Angeles battles the extensive damage and displacement caused by the fires.
