Joel Embiid has signed a three-year, $192.9 million contract extension with the Sixers, securing his spot with the team through the 2028-29 season. The extension includes a player option for the final year, as reported by ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne and The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

Set to make $51.4 million in 2024-25, Embiid expressed his desire to remain in Philadelphia and bring the city an NBA championship. The reigning MVP, who scored a record 70 points against the Spurs last season, aims to improve after battling injuries late in the season.

The Sixers have also added star Paul George to their roster, joining Embiid and Tyrese Maxey as they prepare for the upcoming season.
