Four individuals have been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of Johnny Wactor, the “General Hospital” actor who was killed in May while confronting thieves stealing his car’s catalytic converter, according to Los Angeles police.

The Los Angeles Police Department identified the suspects as Robert Barceleau, 18; Leonel Guiterrez, 18; and Sergio Estrada, 18, all arrested on suspicion of murder. A fourth suspect, Frank Olano, 22, faces charges as an accessory.

The arrests followed the execution of search warrants across Los Angeles by the central homicide bureau. The suspects are being held on $2 million bail each, though their legal representation remains unclear. Specifics about the evidence and further details on the arrests have yet to be disclosed.

Mayor Karen Bass commended the police for their efforts, emphasizing the need to hold those responsible for this “brazen and heinous act” fully accountable.

Wactor, 37, was shot on May 25 after finishing a bartending shift in downtown Los Angeles. He confronted three men stealing his catalytic converter, raising his hands in a peaceful manner before one of the attackers shot him without warning. Wactor was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Wactor, originally from Charleston, South Carolina, played Brando Corbin in 163 episodes of “General Hospital.” His manager remembered him as a “kind soul, a talented actor, and an inspiration to those around him.”

Catalytic converters are often targeted by thieves for their valuable metals. Thefts peaked in 2022, the year California Gov. Gavin Newsom enacted a law to curb the crime.
