Los Angeles police conducted a search Wednesday night at a residence in the Hollywood Hills, situated close to where a Tesla belonging to singer D4vd was discovered abandoned. Subsequently, a decomposed body was found in the trunk of the car. Officials confirmed that the search is specifically linked to the investigation related to the death of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas, whose remains were discovered earlier this month.

Evidence Linked to Decomposed Remains Found in Tesla

Police found the decomposing body of Celeste Rivas in d4vd’s impounded Tesla.

According to a law enforcement source, the connected residence has some sort of relationship with D4vd. They stated that they would not release any additional details at this time. The Los Angeles Police Department stated that officers recovered several pieces of evidence in the residence, including digital devices that could possibly contain security footage or data that may connect the victim, Rivas, to that residence or uncover details of how she came to be in the vehicle. Their investigation is ongoing and the items are awaiting forensic analysis.

The Tesla had been sitting in the area for more than a month before neighbors reported it due to suspicions about it not moving. After the car was towed to Hollywood Tow Yard, the police were contacted to the impound lot on September 8 due to a foul smell coming from it. After the initial inspection, the officers opened the trunk of the vehicle where they discovered decomposed human remains. A forensic examination by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office later positively identified the deceased as Celeste Rivas, a teenager who had been reported missing a year prior in Lake Elsinore, CA.

D4vd Cooperating as Investigation Continues

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office has reported that Rivas was wearing a tube top, black leggings, a yellow chain bracelet, and stud earrings at the time she was found. The report confirmed that she was not intact but they are still waiting for the cause of death to be identified. Law enforcement is treating Rivas’ investigation as a death investigation while they seek to uncover more about what occurred in her disappearance and timeline leading up to the incident.

A representative for D4vd, who’s full name is David Anthony Burke, shared last week that the singer has been made aware of the situation(s) and is cooperating fully with law enforcement. While the investigation continues to sort out how the victim, Rivas, and the vehicle are connected, no arrests have been made and the investigation continues.
