Princess Kate made her first public appearance since announcing she had completed chemotherapy and would be returning to limited public duties.

Accompanied by her husband, Prince William, she attended a Sunday service at Crathie Kirk near the Balmoral estate in Scotland. Photographs captured Kate, 42, smiling in the passenger seat, alongside a convoy with King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

Earlier this month, Kate shared in a personal video message that she had completed treatment for an undisclosed cancer, discovered after abdominal surgery. She acknowledged that her recovery would be long but confirmed she would resume “a few more public engagements.”

Royal contributor Katie Nicholl noted Kate appeared “very much like her old self” but emphasized that Kate’s focus would remain on her health rather than a full return to royal duties.

Last week, Kate held her first official engagement since completing treatment, attending an Early Years meeting at Windsor Castle, part of her role as Joint Patron of the Royal Foundation. However, no photos or further details were released.

Kate has made several public appearances since revealing her cancer treatment in March, including Trooping the Colour and the men’s final at Wimbledon, where she received a standing ovation.

Her absence, along with King Charles’ own cancer treatment, has contributed to a noticeable lack of senior royals available for official duties following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, as well as the departure of Prince Harry and Prince Andrew’s withdrawal from public roles.
