Kodak Black’s Freedom:
Kodak Black, the Florida native rapper, is now a free man, confirmed by his attorney Bradford Cohen on Wednesday, February 21. After spending two months at the Federal Detention Center in Miami, Kodak’s custody is coming to an end. Cohen shared the news with iHeartRadio following Kodak’s recent hearing.

Legal Resolution:
“Federal Probation terminated with time served,” Cohen announced on Instagram. “In the Southern District of Florida, Judge Martinez dismissed all substantive counts, and Kodak plead to the sole violation of failure to report police contact. Time served, and he should be released by tonight. With my co-counsel @skywriter.esq @kodakblack.”

Dismissal of Drug Possession Charge:
This development follows the recent dismissal of his drug possession charge and the reinstatement of his bond, a few days prior. The arrest occurred in December when police found Kodak asleep in his vehicle. Initially, a police officer claimed a white substance near his mouth tested positive for cocaine. However, further examination revealed it was oxycodone, for which Kodak had a prescription since July 2022, following a leg injury from a shooting incident at a Super Bowl after-party hosted by Justin Bieber.

Continued Music Career:
Despite his time behind bars, Kodak Black kept his music career active. He collaborated with Doja Cat on Jeymes Samuel’s soundtrack for The Book of Clarence and released two new songs, “11 a.m. In Malibu” and “Shampoo.” The music video for “Shampoo” premiered just this Monday. Kodak’s release coincides with the anticipation of welcoming his fourth child into the world, marking a significant moment as he returns home.
