“She remains in our hearts, an inimitable force of nature. An irreplaceable being of light and joy,” the statement read.

Page Six identified Jordan with songs including “High Road Easy” and “Suns Gonna Rise.” The report also traced a career spanning Montreal clubs, recording, touring and television.

Jordan was born in Birmingham, England, before relocating to Montreal. That city became the setting for the early performances described in the account of her career.

Montreal Clubs Came Before The Debut Album

Jordan began performing at Montreal clubs at 16, according to the Irish Sun account cited by Page Six. She later joined The Pinups as a bassist and vocalist.

Her debut album, “Tell Somebody,” arrived in 1988, when she was around the age of 25. The following year brought the Juno Award for most promising female vocalist.

Page Six also reported several other nominations alongside that award. The debut album marked the start of the recording career detailed in its obituary.

In 1992, Sass Jordan released the second album, “Racine.” That same year, Billboard named her Female Rock Artist of the Year, according to the report.

The 11-track album included “Make You a Believer,” one of the songs highlighted in the death announcement coverage. It sold around 450,000 copies globally, the Irish Sun reported, as cited by Page Six.

A Duet With Joe Cocker And Major Tours

Jordan also appeared on “The Bodyguard: The Original Soundtrack Album.” Her contribution was “Trust in Me,” a duet recorded with Joe Cocker.

Page Six described the soundtrack alongside the movie starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner. The duet was another recording credit included in its account of Jordan’s work.

Sass Jordan toured alongside The Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Aerosmith and Van Halen during the 1990s. Those touring credits followed the club performances and album releases described in the report.

Canadian Idol And Surviving Family

In 2003, Jordan’s career extended to television as a judge on “Canadian Idol.” She remained on the show for six seasons, until 2008.

The television role joined her recording and touring work in the career remembered by Page Six. Its report named both the music achievements and the family left behind.

Sass Jordan is survived by her husband, Derek Sharp, and their daughter, Stella. Jordan was also the mother of stepdaughter Brianne.
