MyKayla Skinner, who won a vault silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, reportedly blocked Simone Biles on social media after Biles responded to Skinner’s recent criticism of the U.S. gymnastics team’s work ethic and talent.

After winning gold in the team final on Tuesday, Biles posted an Instagram photo with the caption “lack of talent, lazy, olympic champions,” seemingly referencing Skinner’s comments during the U.S. Olympic trials.

Jordan Chiles confirmed the social media block in an Instagram story and Biles on X.

Skinner criticized the team’s depth and work ethic in a now-deleted YouTube video and later apologized on X. She also blamed SafeSport regulations for a perceived decline in coaching quality.

Biles, a survivor of Larry Nassar’s abuse, indirectly responded to Skinner’s comments on Threads, and the national team unfollowed Skinner on Instagram.

Skinner previously faced criticism for a controversial social media post in 2016, which some fans labeled as racist.

Skinner competed individually in Tokyo, winning silver after Biles withdrew from the vault final due to “the twisties.” She retired from gymnastics after the Tokyo Olympics and gave birth to her daughter, Charlotte, in September.
