Teddi Mellencamp revealed on her podcast Two T’s In A Pod that her father, singer John Mellencamp, has started making burial plans for her amid her stage 4 cancer diagnosis. During Tuesday’s episode, Mellencamp said her father called her 11 times to discuss including her in the family mausoleum in Indiana. When she questioned what that meant for her kids, he replied there would be “little areas around it” for them. “Do I need to make this commitment right now?” she asked, to which he responded, “You’re doing your will anyway, you may as well.”

Mellencamp, 43, shares three children with husband Edwin Arroyave, from whom she filed for divorce in November. Earlier this month, she announced her skin cancer had progressed to stage 4, with tumors in both lungs and multiple in her brain. Radiation has been focused on her brain, while lung tumors are being treated through other means.

She said the burial talk came after expressing frustration with a social media comment labeling her current journey a “death walk.” She reminded her father she wants to keep fighting, saying, “I don’t want to be a vegetable,” to which he replied, “I’m going to be in charge of that.” She eventually agreed to be buried in the mausoleum and joked she’d have “hot girls never die” engraved on her tomb.

Mellencamp also posted Instagram photos showing her hair loss over four months, noting the emotional toll. “Sometimes I am so focused on ‘being strong’ that I forget I am allowed to be sad, cry it out, and feel very alone,” she wrote, thanking her loved ones but admitting, “today is one of those days.”

In February, she disclosed that she had undergone emergency brain surgery after scans revealed more tumors. Her melanoma, first diagnosed in 2022, has since metastasized. Mellencamp continues to receive radiation and immunotherapy and remains open about her battle.
