The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service has recalled nearly 29,541 pounds of Chomps beef sticks after metal fragments were found in the product. The recall was issued after Idaho Smokehouse Partners, the manufacturer, received two consumer complaints reporting metal in the ready-to-eat items.

The affected packages are 1.15-oz vacuum-sealed “CHOMPS ORIGINAL BEEF STICK MILD,” produced between January 13 and 15, with an expiration date of February 10, 2026, and lot code 25016. Each package bears establishment number 6220A and was distributed to stores in California and Illinois.

No injuries have been reported, but the USDA advises consumers not to eat the recalled products. Items should be thrown away or returned to the point of purchase.
