Whoopi Goldberg pushed back against Fox News pundit Raymond Arroyo after he dismissed Beyoncé’s Best Country Album win at the 2025 Grammys. Arroyo, appearing on The Ingraham Angle, argued that Beyoncé’s 35 Grammy wins were excessive compared to Dolly Parton’s 10 and Frank Sinatra’s 11, questioning the credibility of her victory for Cowboy Carter.

Goldberg responded on The View, pointing out that Grammy voting is limited to industry professionals, not casual fans. She also noted that when the awards began in 1959, there were only 28 categories, compared to 94 today. She stated that Beyoncé earned the win and criticized attempts to discredit her success.

Beyoncé’s album has reignited discussions on Black artists reclaiming country music, despite her past struggles for industry recognition. Cowboy Carter topped Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart for four weeks but was snubbed from the 2024 CMA Awards, fueling ongoing debates about inclusivity in country music
